One of the advantages of owning a Royale is being able to convert it into a ride-on mower with the Autosteer seat that is available for all models. The cylinder is of a six-bladed hardened steel which can cut as low as 5mm for a close finish but can also cut as high as 35mm to cater for longer grass while its steel front roller produces a classic stripe. A spring loaded comb will lift the grass prior to cutting (for a more even finish). The rear roller can be driven independently of the cylinder, enabling the mower to be driven from lawn to lawn with ease. The handle height if fully adjustable for all different operator requirements, which is especially useful if the Autosteer seat is fitted. A special cradle makes the large capacity grassbox easy to roll on and lift off without spilling the grass clippings. The engine has a fuel capacity of 2.5litres, has a mowing speed of 3.8mph and creates around 85db(A) output. The Atco Royale is not suitable for cutting steep, rough ground or coarse, occasionally maintained grass areas, but for a fine, well maintained, beautiful lawn there simply is no better machine.
