Good brakes are critical for optimum riding, and careful inspection of brake pads and shoes - replacing them as necessary - is a job that every bike owner should do often. Fitting replacement brake pads and shoes can be done easily using a routine instruction manual, and specially formulated brake cleaner and silicon brake grease are important to have on hand.

Renewing Brake Fluid Levels

Motorbike brake fluid can be replaced using a brake bleeding kit. The kit contains a vacuum pump to draw out old brake fluid and any air in the system, after which it's possible to top up the brake reservoir single-handed. The pump can also be used as a pressure checker to monitor pressure in the brake, oil, and water systems of the bike.
