Powered by 230v electric supply, this Optimate 4 battery optimiser has the capability to restore neglected 12v batteries to a reusable state by analysing the capacity of the cells and automatically responding to the results. Containing a micro-processor control system that engages when connected to a battery that has at least two volts in retention, the unit begins by applying 16v over the terminals which is then increased up to 22v for sulphated plates. This rate is maintained for up to two hours until the battery is in a more healthy state when the bulk charge rate is applied at a constant rate of 0.8 ampere.

This newly designed dual-stage system of Recovery and Turbo-Recovery modes is the effective way of restoring both modestly and severely neglected batteries.

Also incorporating a 48 hour timing system, the unit restricts unnecessary attempts of charging short circuited cells. The unit features a red, yellow and green LED panel capable of displaying nineteen different indications that demonstrate the five different results for power drain and retention. Incorporating internal safety features to protect both the equipment and user, the unit contains circuitry that prevents damage to sensitive electronics on the vehicle as the higher charging mode can only be engaged if zero/minimal current is flowing into the battery.

Supplied complete with the TM71 Fused Weatherproof Permanent Connection Lead so that you can be permanently wired on to your battery and have the weatherproof socket conveniently situated on the frame of your machine.
