Having an electronic garage alarm to detect and warn off intruders is a sensible and cost effective security precaution for every motorbike owner. There are several designs available - some can be fitted onto the ceiling of the garage in a position similar to that of a smoke alarm. From here, the garage alarm has a 360 degree all round 'view' and can detect any movement within a six metre range. The alarm is set using a 'key fob' radio control unit and if triggered, makes 130 decibels of noise to alert the bike owner and scare off potential thieves.

Ceiling & Floor Alarm Systems

Floor mounted garage alarms are also available and are sited in the corner of the garage. Setting is done by an infrared controller, and the range and siren power is similar to that of a ceiling mounted garage alarm. Some models can be linked up to a phone line to dial a telephone number to alert you, or the local police, to a theft in progress.
