Used to sharpen dull edges or to smooth out chipped edges, an angle grinder is an extremely versatile handheld electric power tool, and a staple in most woodwork and DIY workshops. The angle grinder's head sits at a right angle to the motor and is mounted on an abrasive disc that can be renewed when worn down.

Handheld Electric Discs

The discs used with an angle grinder are available in different materials, depending on the target matter and the DIY task at hand. Types of discs include cut-off discs, sanding discs, abrasive grinding discs, wire-brush wheels and polishing pads. Unlike a power drill, an angle grinder has large bearings that counter the side force generated during operation.
