A good power planer gives a smooth finish and offers excellent safety and handling features such as an electronic brake to stops the blades and a rubber coated handle for a good, safe grip. Most models feature an extraction spout to enable the planer to connect directly with a dust extraction unit, removing dust and shavings as they're produced.

Smooth Shave Planers

Power planers are hand-held, compact tools that can smooth both hard and soft woods by taking thin layers from the surface. Ideal for smoothing rough wood for furniture making or DIY projects, they're also great for reducing the size of a piece of wood - a drawer or door, for example, that's slightly too big, benefits immediately from a little tapering.
