What do Count Zeppelin, Gottlieb Daimler, Robert Bosch and Alfred Karcher have in common? Well, apart from all hailing from a diminutive area of western Germany called Württemberg, they were all entrepreneurial geniuses, and the latter is responsible founding one on the most respected manufacturers of cleaning hardware in the world.

Sanitation Cleaning Machines

Described by his colleagues as a man of boundless ingenuity and energy, he spent the thirties and forties designing and building industrial submersible heating elements and hardening furnaces for alloys, selling 1,200 units up to 1945. Sadly he was not to see all the fruits of his labours as Albert Karcher passed away in 1959 at the age of 58. The brilliant legacy he left behind, however, lives on today. Still very much a family business, Karcher is recognised as a world-leader in the industrial cleaning market, now worth hundreds of millions of pounds and selling to 36 countries world-wide.

Famous for their range of high-pressure hydro-cleaning systems for the automotive industry, Karcher also design and manufacture domestic and industrial vacuum cleaners, sweepers, disc floor scrubbers, scrubber-driers and spray-extraction steam cleaners. The following years have seen enormous growth from Kärcher with progressive new developments and expanding product range enabling it to become a single source supply for a technically advanced and sophisticated range of cleaning machines.
