Pillar Drills

Pillar drills are larger floor standing versions of a heavy-duty bench drill. The pillar or column of the drill is much extended and the pillar drill can be sited anywhere in the engineering workshop. It is usually bolted to the floor for stability and can be used to drill larger pieces of material than the equivalent powered bench drill. Space-Saving Drills The great advantage of a pillar drill is that it does not take up worktop space. The drill and work table are sited at a comfortable working height, with most models offering variable speeds and a tilting table for easier angled drilling. Different drill bit accessories are available, making the pillar model a valuable machine in the workshop.
