Rotavators

Rotavators and cultivators are very similar machines, designed to turn over compacted soil or turn in mulches and manure, making land ready for landscaping or planting. These are typically push-along machines, with a rotating head equipped with multiple sharp tines at the base of a hand held shaft, often with handlebars. Manual Soil Preparation Powered rotavators can penetrate soil up to a depth of around 6-8 inches, taking a lot of the hard work out of breaking it up, and greatly improving the air content. A useful tip is to only rotavate after weeding has been completed, otherwise you could end up spreading the weeds instead of eliminating them.
