Electric Routers

A router is a rotating cutting tool used to cut into wood. Routers consist of a circular base plate and a narrow blade which projects through the plate. When in operation, an electric motor powers the blade of the router (held in a type of chuck, known as a collet) to push into the wood, hollowing it out into various shapes depending on the type of blade used. Woodwork Cutting & Shaping Two main types of routers are plunge routers and fixed routers, both of which we stock and by top brands including Draper, Einhell and Worx. Plunge routers work by placing the base on the wood, whereupon the blade is lowered into the wood to the desired depth. Fixed routers set the depth of the cut before the blade is lowered.
