OutdoorChef Ascona 570 G Barbecue in Grey
OutdoorChef BBQ’s are well known for their high quality workmanship and innovative technology, their BBQ range is designed to offer easy outdoor cooking. The Ascona 570G gas barbecue features a 57cm diameter enamelled kettle bowl with hinged lid which has been finished off to the highest standard. Fitted with an ergonomic steel handle with an FSC wood grip the lid can be opened and shut safely without the need for mitts. The roasting hood is also fitted with a thermometer allowing you to be in full control of cooking temperatures for perfect cooking results every time.
The design offers 2 separate stainless steel gas burners which are mounted centrally at the bottom of the kettle bowl to allow for greater heat control and cooking at lower heat levels. The burners are easily lit using the electronic ignition system which is mounted on the control panel which features some very useful cooking instructions advising on funnel positions for cooking. Completely covering the burners is the patented funnel system which eliminates flare-ups and protects foods from burning and helps to distribute heat evenly for a ‘no burn’ cooking system. The fats and juices which are released from foods lands on the funnels and evaporates giving that much loved BBQ flavour and smell. Any juices which do not evaporate will run along the porcelain enamelled funnel into the collecting tray underneath for quick and easy cleaning.
Mounted on a robust epoxy coated tubular frame which is complimented by a small side shelf and larger lower shelf which is ideal for storing crockery, condiments and ingredients. The Ascona 570 G also features tool holders to keep cooking utensils close to the BBQ for when they are needed. Built with 2 large wheels for easy movement around the garden or patio to where the BBQ is required.
Indirect Grilling and Baking
For indirect barbecuing and roasting, the upper funnel is placed inside the kettle with the large opening pointing upwards. The heat from the gas burner rises up along the sides of the kettle, distributing an even, indirect heat from all sides. With the lid on, there's no need to turn the food at all throughout the cooking process.
Direct Cooking and Roasting
For grilling at very high temperatures or with the cast-iron griddle, the upper funnel is placed in the kettle with the small opening at the top. This creates high, concentrated heat in the middle of the cooking grid or griddle. The kettle lid is not absolutely necessary for this method of cooking.
