Fabulous product just let down by an oil sight that didn’t show oil level despite being full. Cuts beautifully, great safety features, easy to use, sturdy and great value so far.

Spent some time deciding whether to invest in a battery or petrol chainsaw. Not using it all the time, I opted for this model, not the cheapest on the market, and not the best (by brand alone) but having gone through two full charges on the battery after some heavy tree pruning and log cutting, I can say that it more than meets my needs and is backed by a 5 year warranty. Super.

Thing to remember is, let the saw do the work, to much pressure and it cuts out, light pressure and it sails through the wood.

I only need this tool for occasional use (light tree pruning and some basic firewood logging) and decided against a petrol one as they really need regular use in order to be reliable. Although this Ego kit works out at around £70 more then an equivalent petrol Husqvarna, you'll see that money disappear at first service, whereas the battery powered one is essentially maintenance free. On unpacking I found the battery was already fully charged and within 5 minutes was setting about a number of 10x10cm fence posts with ease. Not exactly Giant Redwoods I know, but perfect for what I want. The instructions suggest the basic 2ah battery is good for around 100 cuts, which if that's the case would be good enough for 20-25 fence posts sawn into 4 pieces each. Ample for me. I was tempted to pay for the more expensive 4ah battery, but now realise I would have been wasting my money. The whole thing seems solid and is beautifully balanced with the battery fitted. To simply press a button to go is a real treat. I have had a number of petrol driven appliances in the past, but suspect I won't have in the future. I also did extensive research comparing this to the Greenworks, which is very highly rated too, but I can';t believe it could be better than this. Really pleased I got this and World of Power offered a very efficient service too.
