Description
This Husqvarna large splitting axe has been designed and manufactured in Germany to a high quality with the user in mind. Ideal for hardwoods like beech, oak and ask, the axe is manufactured with a solid ash handle with a forged steel head which has been hardened to stay sharper for longer and also easy to re-sharpen. The upper end of the 80ccm shaft has been painted orange for improved visibility while the head has a rounded end and the weight needed to give force while splitting larger pieces of wood.
Comes with a durable sheath cover to protect the axe while not in use.

Excellent splitting axe

Great axe/splitter for splitting firewood. In the past, i've used an axe, and a dedicated log splitter. The axe was too narrow for splitting and would get wedged, the splitter was too blunt an angle for ease of splitting wood sections.
This axe does a better splitting job than either dedicated tool. It doesn't get jammed in the wood much, and usually blows through 200mm - 300mm sections, in one go (well seasoned stuff).
I'm 6'2" and this is a good length for me.
Very happy, and would recommend.
