Homemade burgers not only taste so much better than shop bought but are also so quick and easy to prepare. With the need for only 2 simple staple ingredients, you can add in seasonings or other ingredients to be as adventurous as you like. For those who like the simple tastes in life or those who want to join in with national cheese burger day (not that we need an excuse!), fantastic tasting patties only take 5 minutes to rustle up using the below ingredients;
- Mince Meat – 80% lean, 20% fat
- 1 Egg (beaten)
We choose mince meat with a fat content of 20% as this adds flavour to the burger whilst also helping to bind when making. The egg helps to bind the patty together to give the perfect burger.
Now that’s the simple ingredients out the way, you can also add in any of the following to flavour the burger to your taste, it may sound expensive but once you have the seasonings they will store in the cupboard for a long time for use with other dishes;

Kids and teens all over the country today are called upon to take over the kitchens to make their favourite recipe or help make a meal for their family. Now being a parent, I cannot say I condone my kids to be left alone in the kitchen cooking for more than 30 seconds without being supervised due to the mess and destruction they can cause within 60 seconds.
So this year I propose to send them outside and get them cooking on the
BBQ to teach them new skills and get them involved with being outdoors. So this year we shall be doing all the preparation in the kitchen then heading outdoors to see what culinary delights we can create…hopefully this shall keep their interest for longer than the 2-3 minutes that we are used to.
Not only is a
BBQ designed for cooking burgers and sausages, this cave man thinking needs to be altered to give people the joy and fantastic tastes
