What is PDI?

Pre Delivery Inspection Pre-delivery inspection or PDI is the term given by manufacturers for the process performed by their dealers to ensure that a product is delivered in full and correct working order. Any minor faults or adjustments should carried out by factory trained technicians. The best example of this would be your car, we all see new cars loaded on to transporters with white covers all over the bodywork and trim missing. Every car as to go through the dealers PDI workshops before you can take delivery of it. What Does PDI Have To Do With Garden Machinery? Quality garden machinery manufacturers maintain a dealer network to provide the exact same service. This ensures that their products reach you in the best possible working condition. The best example of such a product is a chainsaw, especially a petrol chainsaw. Chainsaws are not manufactured in the UK, so all chainsaws […]

Improve your Lawn with a Lawn Scarifier

Scarifier

If you’ve ever wondered how you can improve the look of your lawn, and how it grows then this article should help. Improve your Lawn with a Lawn Scarifier Lawn Scarifiers usually look a bit like a lawnmower and is sometimes referred to as a de-thatcher. This garden tool is designed to cut through the top layer of soil, removing dead moss grass cuttings and other debris. As the Scarifier cuts into the soil, the tines (prongs) help to aerate the soil, making it healthier by removing the majority of the weeds. Benefits of a Lawn Scarifier If you don’t regularly de-thatch your lawn, dead grass cuttings and moss will choke the surface, preventing rain water from penetrating the ground. When rain falls on a choked lawn, it will sit on top making your lawn boggy. Excess moisture can also encourage even more moss growth, making the problem even worse. […]

Spicy BBQ Smoked Ham

This week we have been out testing an Outback Insignia 6 burner gas BBQ at World of Power HQ. We decided to do a very simple spicy smoked ham recipe. Ham can be purchased locally for a few £s from most supermarkets, this can be purchased smoked and un-smoked and large / small sizes. 1.Boil ham in sauce pan for approx 45 mins to reduce salt content, rinse and then dry with a kitchen towel. 2. When cooled enough to handle, rub oil into the ham (we use rapeseed for all our BBQing as it has a higher burning point). 3. Rub the ham in a spicy rub, we used a Gordon Rhodes BBQ meat rub for this recipe. We also tear the ham into a few pieces to increase the surface area (more spicy covering!) 4. Place the ham / ham pieces onto a rack (better for all round […]
