Garden Machinery Servicing in Buxton, Derbyshire!

Here at the World of Power showroom in Buxton we’ve noticed an increase in the amount of machines being booked in for service, this can only mean one thing… sad to say but yes, the growing season is coming to an end.We would highly recommend that you bring in your garden machinery for any repairs and servicing needs before you put them away for winter.  There’s no better time as we can fully inspect your machine and get it into tip top condition ready for the springtime when you can rest assured that this annual job has been done.  For those who leave it until the spring – when you need to start using your garden machines as everything springs to life – you may find that there is quite a queue, as those others who weren’t quite so quick off the mark have also booked in their mowers; grass […]

With the need for only 2 simple staple ingredients, you can add in seasonings or other ingredients to be as adventurous as you like. For those who like the simple tastes in life or those who want to join in with national cheese burger day (not that we need an excuse!), fantastic tasting patties only take 5 minutes to rustle up using the below ingredients; Mince Meat – 80% lean, 20% fat 1 Egg (beaten) We choose mince meat with a fat content of 20% as this adds flavour to the burger whilst also helping to bind when making. National Kids Take Over the Kitchen Day

Kids and teens all over the country today are called upon to take over the kitchens to make their favourite recipe or help make a meal for their family. Now being a parent, I cannot say I condone my kids to be left alone in the kitchen cooking for more than 30 seconds without being supervised due to the mess and destruction they can cause within 60 seconds. So this year I propose to send them outside and get them cooking on the BBQ to teach them new skills and get them involved with being outdoors. So this year we shall be doing all the preparation in the kitchen then heading outdoors to see what culinary delights we can create…hopefully this shall keep their interest for longer than the 2-3 minutes that we are used to. Not only is a BBQ designed for cooking burgers and sausages, this cave man […]

Be BBQ Safe This Summer

With camping and festival season in full swing with Britain’s summer music festivals lined up ready and school holidays in full flow, BBQ safety needs to be at the forefront of minds. Whilst you may think it’s a good ideal to bring the warm BBQ into the tent to provide a little extra heat during the cold summer nights BUT this can be a DEADLY MISTAKE! There have been many reports of incidents involving BBQ’s in confined areas (tents) whilst people are sleeping which has caused sever CO poisoning and even death.   Taking a BBQ into a tent, caravan or any enclosed space whilst its cooling down after cooking can release unsafe levels of CO which can lead to CO poisoning – also known as the ‘silent killer’. The tell-tale signs of CO poisoning are headaches, nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, collapsing and loss of consciousness. A BBQ must be left […]

Makita Cordless Hedge Trimmer

When it comes to garden machinery, our experts are very passionate. Not only do we sell products, we also test and use them at home to ensure we can offer the best advice and product range to our customers. Many garden machinery dealers will be able to talk the talk but not many walk the walk at home. At World of Power, we are all about excellent customer service so this weekend when our hedge was in dire need of a trim we took home a Makita cordless hedge trimmer to put it to the test. Having let my 3 boarder hedges grow out over the past few months to gain height, the Makita cordless hedge trimmer had its work cut out. After charging the battery earlier in the day, we were soon ready to get to work. Taking the battery and slotting it into place was very simple (much […]

Hedgetrimmer Hints & Tips

Whether they offer beautiful boarders, shade and privacy or just because, we are all on a mission to achieve the best looking hedge. Cutting a hedge manually can be a time consuming and very labour involved task which is why a hedge trimmer is a very popular tool to have. In the right hands a hedge trimmer can perfectly trim, shape and keep your hedge healthy with ease. With petrol, electric and cordless models available with a range to suit all budgets and needs, most hedge trimmers are now lightweight and very simple to use. Prune Hedgerows can become very woody as they grow which gives off a unhealthy appearance which loses the manicured hedge finish we all dream off. Outback Combi – From Store to Garden

After much consideration on a gas or charcoal BBQ and a chat with a lovely lady in the World of Power showroom, we decided to purchase the Outback dual fuel 2 burner gas / charcoal BBQ.  Living local to World of Power in Buxton, their delivery driver delivered two boxes to our address in their World of Power van (free of charge we must add!) We have to compliment all the staff at World of Power for being very helpful, their customer service is second to none and best of all there is no pushy sales tactics they really do care about the needs and wants of the customer.  The delivery driver turned up when he said he would and popped the boxes to where I asked with no fuss.   Considering ourselves to be a bit of flat pack masters, we didn’t quite know what to expect when we ordered […]

What is PDI?

Pre Delivery Inspection Pre-delivery inspection or PDI is the term given by manufacturers for the process performed by their dealers to ensure that a product is delivered in full and correct working order. Any minor faults or adjustments should carried out by factory trained technicians. The best example of this would be your car, we all see new cars loaded on to transporters with white covers all over the bodywork and trim missing. Every car as to go through the dealers PDI workshops before you can take delivery of it. What Does PDI Have To Do With Garden Machinery? Quality garden machinery manufacturers maintain a dealer network to provide the exact same service. This ensures that their products reach you in the best possible working condition. The best example of such a product is a chainsaw, especially a petrol chainsaw. Chainsaws are not manufactured in the UK, so all chainsaws […]
