BBQ Season is on its way!

When it comes to BBQing here at World of Power, we are firm believers that there is no such thing as summer only BBQ’s, we’re out 365 days a year grilling. With BBQ designs evolving over the past 10 years, gone are the days of flipping burgers and sausages in the back garden whilst standing over the BBQ, the risk of turning your back for 2 minutes would lead to burnt food! BBQ’s are now designed to cook EVERYTHING… anything you can cook indoors in your oven you can cook on your BBQ. The 2020 season sees some new models along with updated models and old favourites back within the Outback BBQ range, there is something to suit all requirements including gas, charcoal and models which will do both. Be BBQ Safe This Summer

With camping and festival season in full swing with Britain’s summer music festivals lined up ready and school holidays in full flow, BBQ safety needs to be at the forefront of minds. Whilst you may think it’s a good ideal to bring the warm BBQ into the tent to provide a little extra heat during the cold summer nights BUT this can be a DEADLY MISTAKE! There have been many reports of incidents involving BBQ’s in confined areas (tents) whilst people are sleeping which has caused sever CO poisoning and even death.   Taking a BBQ into a tent, caravan or any enclosed space whilst its cooling down after cooking can release unsafe levels of CO which can lead to CO poisoning – also known as the ‘silent killer’. The tell-tale signs of CO poisoning are headaches, nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, collapsing and loss of consciousness. A BBQ must be left […]

Outback Combi – From Store to Garden

After much consideration on a gas or charcoal BBQ and a chat with a lovely lady in the World of Power showroom, we decided to purchase the Outback dual fuel 2 burner gas / charcoal BBQ.  Living local to World of Power in Buxton, their delivery driver delivered two boxes to our address in their World of Power van (free of charge we must add!) We have to compliment all the staff at World of Power for being very helpful, their customer service is second to none and best of all there is no pushy sales tactics they really do care about the needs and wants of the customer.  The delivery driver turned up when he said he would and popped the boxes to where I asked with no fuss.   Considering ourselves to be a bit of flat pack masters, we didn’t quite know what to expect when we ordered […]

Christmas Turkey on a Weber BBQ

When it comes to cooking my turkey I always use a Nigella Lawson marinating recipe, it’s been a favourite of my family and mine for many years. The results are always fantastic and more exciting than a traditional, dry turkey. Our turkey marinates within its juices for about 36 hours; Cook Chicken on the BBQ Many believe that barbecuing is just for summer but we think that you should be out barbecuing all year round. When it comes to my BBQ I use the indirect cooking method which creates an oven effect, so I can go inside, sit in front in front of my log fire and put my feet up whilst the BBQ does all the work! When cooking on the BBQ I always rest a large drip tray on the flavourizer bars. (I use my Weber Spirit BBQ) to catch the juices from the meat which are perfect for roasting vegetables. […]
